SIGH

Ok, so for starters, I just got back from visiting Karen for six days.... I had a fabulous time, so much fun... but so sad, now I am back to real life. I will post some fun pictures of that trip when Mike shows me how to transfer my pictures onto the computer... I know I'm pathetic, I have a technical husband so I haven't learned how to do those things yet. Anyways... I had a blast and I haven't had a chance to post anything in the past week and a half so here goes...

Mike is not getting into the fire department this September... we have to wait around and pray that he will get into the January one... more waiting. But Mike's cousin got in so that is good for the family at least... just sad for us. So I was bummed and depressed for a few days then I decided "ok, so now what." Well, we are now going to be going to England the end of August because I thought.. "ok, since we don't have a job this September, let's do what we've been wanting to do for years, and travel..." so that is what we are going to do (hopefully). So that is what we get to work on now.

So the not so fun other side of things is this... Tomorrow is my yucky HSG test or tubal dye study.. which is basically where they insert a tube inside my cervix and fill up my uterus and fallopian tubes with dye and take a bunch of x-rays and look for any blockages or problems. (So not fun), they say it's painful but apparently it won't kill me, so that is good news. I'll let you know how it goes. The test is usually 2,000 dollars, and my insurance only covers half... but the blessing is that the Hospital does this if you pay up front discount where it is only around 300 dollars for me. So little blessings, but the not fun infertility testing costs begin (yucky) I will also get all my lab results tomorrow since I will be there, but since I haven't heard anything from my doctor, I'm guessing they were normal. (this is good and bad, you sometimes want there to be a problem so they can fix it, but at the same time it's nice to know you are still normal)

The Frustration

Ok, so I know I need to have faith, and hope, and patience.... but it is REALLY HARD sometimes. So still nothing in the mail... I'm beginning to think we aren't getting into this academy... so I need to wait another six months... I'm trying to prep myself ... I know it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things as long as Mike gets a job... but with all this infertility stuff and stuff... if I get pregnant most likely he will be in the next academy and miss out on the birth and the first few months of the childs life... or it could take several years to even have a baby... so I know this is where faith and trusting in the Lord comes in... but it's not easy. In fact, it is very hard, and I am just sad. I probably have to go back to full time or pick up another job to pay the bills cause we can't last another six months on me working part time... sucky... I'm just having a bad day.

I was interrupted by the phone. My manager just called me because I had some questions about teaching lamaze, sometimes I was getting a night shift differential and sometimes I wasn't, and I wanted it cleared up. So now she said I should be getting it... which is really awesome... so that's an extra 7 dollars and hour teaching... nice :)

This is our Den before we began any insulating and drywalling. Looks nice, but it was eating our electric bill like crazy... it is directly touching the roof shingles and the nails were coming right through the ceiling. So Mike and I decided to do something about it. Since his computer is in here he didn't want to sit through another summer in a sauna :)

This is when it was framed and Mike's brother John came over and saved us by putting in the electrical boxes and electrical stuff.
This is Mike insulating.

All insulated and the Drywall is going up. By the way it was just me and Mike doing this. I helped a lot and held heavy stuff up and even put some drywall screws in :)

All drywalled and puttied and we are ready to texturize.... next post cause figuring out how to do this is giving me a headache. Never mind, if I do a new post it will be at the top and I have to finish.. so we are back to editing.

Prepping for our spray gun texturizer. That was an awesome tool, but I don't have a picture, but I think all this taping took three times as long as shooting the spray gun.
All done with the texturizer, then when it dried we primered, then painted then hooked up the lighting and wala..... finished. (It really wasn't as easy as that... but we did it )
Me blogging as Mike takes a picture of our finished product because I didn't have any yet.
Aren't our lights pretty :) The end.

One Day at a Time

Ok, so really, I have to take one day at time in my life and for blogging. This has been a frustrating experience only because I am not that computer literate... my husband is, but I'm trying to do as much as possible on my own so that I can learn :) Anyways, my life on the other hand has also been crazy. As of now, a friend of mine and her husband received a letter yesterday for "family day" for LA County Fire Department. This is what Mike and I are waiting for. I did not get a letter in my mail box, so I am waiting patiently praying it will come for the August or September Academy. I'm trying to have Faith knowing that everything will work out for the best. If not this time around then I know the Lord will have something in store for us. He always does, and as I reflect back, I do have to be extremely grateful for my life and all my blessings and experiences for they truly have been "for [my] good." That doesn't mean they've been easy, in fact my Blog title is that way for a reason, but one thing I am extremely grateful for at this moment is an awesome family support system, an absolutely amazing husband who stands by me, and the best network of friends anyone can ask for (Karen and Sara). Thanks. This will have to do for now, until I figure out how to put pictures up here... or get something in the mail.
